About this costume

Selection Process: I always disliked Tifa's OG outfit, but I liked her remake outfit and just loved cosplaying different outfits since she's my fave <3. I don't play EC but Thermo already had the Aerith equivalent cosplay so I figured I'd join her, plus her Remake VA Britt Baron was going to be at Game On Expo! I don't usually do celeb meet & greets but this game is so important to my childhood! I do have to note that I thought this design was really unusual for a martial artist to wear, so I took some creative liberties in mine.​

Construction: Skirt, top, belt pouch and shoes (lifted suede Nikes for $20!!!!!) all thrifted. The top was actually an oversized sweater that I cut up and altered. All the million straps, shins and arm guards were purchased from Shein. It was definitely confusing assembling the straps to match the design. I also thought I was making a smart move buying the skirt with attached shorts, but then I have the belt and suspenders all connected so yeah... will have to change that before I wear it again so I can use the bathroom!!

Final Thoughts: I met Britt Baron in costume and brought her a sketch I drew of Tifa back in 1997 and had her sign it. She was so sweet and said it was such a memorable moment meeting fans. OMG I CRIED!
